Myofunctional therapy for better breathing, sleep, and speech.
Personalized programs for children and adults that retrain the muscle patterns behind mouth breathing, tongue thrust, and disrupted sleep. In person in Lincoln Park, or by telehealth across Illinois.

What we treat.
Different symptoms, one root. Snoring, mouth breathing, a tongue thrust, jaw tension, a lingering thumb habit, speech that won't quite click. The reasons vary, but the question underneath is usually the same: how the mouth rests, breathes, and swallows. That's what orofacial myofunctional therapy retrains, and what every program below is built on.
Comprehensive Evaluation
Every plan begins with a 60-minute evaluation of how the mouth rests, breathes, chews, and swallows, adding speech or feeding where relevant, with baseline photos, measurements, and a written report.
Tongue-Tie & Frenectomy
Preparation before a release and rehabilitation after one, coordinated with the releasing provider.
Learn moreSleep Apnea & Snoring
Airway muscle retraining that supports deeper, quieter sleep, alongside your physician's care.
Learn moreTMJ & Jaw Tension
Easing clenching, grinding, and jaw strain by retraining the muscle habits underneath, alongside dental care.
Learn moreMouth Breathing & Open Posture
Restoring nasal breathing and closed-lip rest, the foundation for facial growth, dental health, and better sleep.
Learn moreOral Habits & Ortho Support
Ending thumb and pacifier habits, and retraining the patterns behind orthodontic relapse.
Learn moreSpeech & Feeding
Articulation for sounds with a muscular cause, and pediatric feeding therapy for picky eating and oral motor skills.
Learn moreEvery one of these is delivered through one program. See how our program works
One structured program, built around you.
Whatever brings you in, your care is a structured program shaped around your goals. What we work on, and how long it takes, is set at your evaluation and paced to your needs, and we adjust as you go. In person in Lincoln Park or by telehealth across Illinois.

Evaluate
Your first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation, where we assess what's going on and design your plan, before any therapy begins.

Retrain
Guided sessions retrain the muscle patterns, supported by a little practice at home. We set the rhythm together and adjust it to your needs.

Make it stick
New patterns only matter if they hold. Sessions taper as the habits become automatic, and we stay available for check-ins afterward.
Every program includes
- A course of personalized sessions, in person in Lincoln Park or by telehealth across Illinois
- A practice kit, handed to you in person or mailed for telehealth
- Regular progress re-checks
- Messaging support between sessions
- Coordination and written reports with your dentist, orthodontist, ENT, or physician
- Follow-up check-ins after you finish
Everyone starts with a program. If you need extra sessions along the way, or a check-in once you've finished, we add them as needed.
More about our programSpecialist care, without the clinic shuffle.
The specialty, not a side service
Myofunctional therapy is the focus of this practice, built on full speech-language pathology training.
Built to graduate you
A skill-based course with a clear endpoint: we coach the technique, your practice at home makes it last, and we stay available for check-ins afterward.
Measured, not vague
Baseline photos and measurements at intake, and progress reviewed against them as you go.
Built for referrals
Written reports and direct coordination with your dentist, orthodontist, ENT, or sleep physician.
Simple, transparent payment.
chicagomyo is a private-pay practice. Billing stays simple, costs are clear from the start, and every decision about your care stays between you and your therapist.
Clear, up-front billing
Sessions are billed directly at the time of service through our secure client portal, and rates are always shared before care begins, starting with your free 15-minute phone consultation. Your evaluation is booked as its own first appointment. We accept all major credit and debit cards, and HSA and FSA cards are welcome. You will always know your costs in advance.
Superbills for reimbursement
Many plans reimburse a portion of out-of-network care. On request, we prepare a superbill, an itemized receipt with the diagnosis and procedure codes your insurer looks for, ready to submit to your plan.
Care shaped around you
As a private-pay practice, treatment plans are built on clinical need and your goals. Sessions stay unhurried, plans reflect what matters to you, and therapy continues exactly as long as it is helping.
Any billing or reimbursement questions can be answered during your free 15-minute phone consultation.
Book a ConsultationAmanda Ing, MHS, CCC-SLP

chicagomyo was founded by Amanda Ing, a speech-language pathologist licensed in Illinois and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP).
Amanda has worked with patients across the lifespan, from children with articulation, language, feeding, and motor-speech differences to adults rebuilding speech, cognition, and swallowing after stroke or brain injury. Again and again, the same pattern surfaced: when speech, feeding, or sleep problems kept coming back, the cause often sat in how the mouth rests, breathes, and swallows.
She pursued advanced training in orofacial myofunctional therapy to treat that cause directly, and it's now the center of her work. Sessions are warm and professional, grounded in current research, with clinical rigor underneath.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), licensed in Illinois
- Advanced training in orofacial myofunctional therapy and pediatric feeding
- MHS in Communication Disorders, Governors State University
- BS in Speech and Hearing Science, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
- Experience across the lifespan, pediatric through adult, in outpatient, school, and hospital settings
“Our three-year-old son loved seeing Amanda every single visit. He was always so happy to go to speech. He just thought he was playing, but he was working on the building blocks that would become the foundation for his language. Through her play-based techniques and imaginative play, our son grew over the months he worked with Amanda. As a parent, there is nothing better than waiting in the lobby hearing your child laughing out loud in his sessions.”
